If you are heading to the west coast of the United States anytime soon, listen up! I have outlined the best things for you to do, see, and eat while you are in southern California’s most bustling city. The air is dry, warm, and usually never uncomfortably hot.
Friday
One: Eggslut For Breakfast
This is going to be the ultimate breakfast stop and I highly suggest starting your weekend with this. There are a few locations where Eggslut is located including downtown Los Angeles. I would go to this location because it is closest to my next activity.
Two: Visit The Last Bookstore
The Last Bookstore is California’s largest new and used book and record store. You can find some of the best books and records as well as sell or trade your own. Not only that, but the bookstore has a very cool and unique inside to it making it feel almost like a parallel universe. It is also great for some insta-worthy shots.
Three: Check into your Hotel
(If you haven’t already) Where you want to stay is mostly going to depend on the location you are looking for. Santa Monica is going to be by the beach and the Santa Monica Pier. Downtown Los Angeles is going to be in the heart of the city. West Hollywood is going to be in a great location for bars, restaurants, and visiting Hollywood. Best Hotels: Shutters on the Beach, Omni Los Angeles hotel in California Plaza, Freehand Los Angeles, or the Chamberlain West Hollywood Hotel.
Four: Go to Nobu Malibu for Dinner
This one is just a cool experience and definitely something that is a once and a lifetime thing, unless you have the funds for it. This spot definitely adds to the ultimate weekend travel guide in Los Angeles. The Nobu location is beautifully set on Malibu’s coast and is a perfect way to see a beautiful sunset. It is a bit farther from the downtown area but ubering is easy or driving yourself. Malibu is one of my favorite parts of California in general. Other things to do, eat, or see in Malibu: Sip win at the Saddle Peak Lodge Winery, Hike Mugu Peak Trail, visit Point Dune, or The Malibu Cafe (very insta-worthy).

One: Surf Lessons at Venice Beach
Two: Lunch at Gran Blanco
Located right in Venice, this is going to be a perfect place to get a bite to eat after you work up an appetite. It has very cute Cali vibes and has excellent views of Venice on the top.
Four: Visit the Broad
The Broad is one of Los Angeles’ best art museums. It is a contemporary art museums that boasts some of the best art collections. The admissions is free and you will experience rotating exhibitions. Plus the architecture of the building is epic.
Five: Watch the Sunset at Griffith Observatory
Griffith Observatory is an icon of Los Angeles. It is a way to explore and appreciate astronomy. It is a popular location to visit because of its incredible views of Los Angeles and the Pacific ocean. This is definitely a place to visit during sunset, as the view gets even prettier.
Six: Dinner at SUR
Have you ever watched Vanderpump rules? I am obsessed with that show so it was only necessary that we went to SUR for dinner. It was actually such a fun atmosphere and the food was incredible. Plus it is located in West Hollywood, so there are plenty of fun bars to go to after.
Saturday
One: Breakfast at the Butchers Daughter
This breakfast spot is also located in West Hollywood and it is so good. They have a place in New York City and every time I go it is so good. It is a great place to enjoy good breakfast and to help your hangover.
Two: Hike Runyon Canyon Park
Three: Lacma (Los Angeles County Museum of Art)
This is the biggest art museum in the west and is definitely a must visit. It connects cultures from ancient times to modern days. Plus, it has the most epic lighting design outside and is cool spot to take a picture. If you can visit at night, it is even cooler.
Four: Stroll Through Descanso Gardens
If you are looking for a relaxing break along you LA tour, this is the place to go. It is a unique outdoor location that you can take your book you bought at the Last Bookstore and enjoy a relaxing evening in the gardens.
Five: Dinner and Drinks at the Rooftop by YG
You definitely have to go out with a bang and what better way than visit a rooftop bar! This one is definitely a favorite and is a 2022 bucket list spot. It is the perfect way to end your weekend.
