DAY ONE: Friday

Land in Seoul at 3:25 pm

  • Take train to airbnb: airport train to green line: get off at euljiro-3 ga 
  • Tips: Across the street from “Nine Tree hotel Myeongdong”is the apartment building.
  • Get to airbnb, check in, get organized/unpack, change 

 OPTIONS: go to Myeongdong cathedral or Nanta Theatre. Nanta is a famous Korean cooking performance that involves all kinds of acrobatics, magic tricks and a lot of humor. 

For your first night it is suggested to head to Myeong-Dong which is close by to your Airbnb. It is an international plaza and shoppers paradise with many incredible fashion spots and things to do/see.:

  •  Walk around and enjoy the views
  • Outdoor food market 
  • Find the Stylenanda pink hotel which is a fun architectural spot that is definitely insta-worthy
  • Skin care products are very popular to purchase here
  • It is not recommended to eat street food here 
  • O’Sulloc Tea House: such a cute spot with incredible tea

Restaurant options for dinner: Myeongdong Kyoja: specializes in kalguksu (noodle with broth) and dumpings, Halmeoni Guksu: local old restaurant in the back alley, known for guksu (noodles), Gangnam Myeonok: Galbi Jjim, which are braised short ribs, for drinks- Juyub Yeoljong Myeongdong: known for fusion drinks and makgeolli slush and mojito soju

It is suggested to stay up until at least 10 pm so that you can try to adjust to the time zone change. 

DAY TWO: Saturday

Leave the apartment by 8:30 am: for breakfast and coffee head to Isaac Toast & Coffee

  • Take the train to (about 5 mins) Gyeongbokgung Palace (opens at 9am): the most beautiful and largest palace in Seoul
  • After palace: make way over to Bukchon Hanok Village: walking distance- 600 yr old urban street and a traditional Korean style village
  • Go to a Tea house- there’s one that has beautiful view of mountains, name is Cha-teul. Located at 26 Bukchon-ro 11na-gil, Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea
  • Take Anguk Station to Sindorium for Irish festival (about 40 mins) 1pm – 6pm
    • Can also go to Mullae Art District or Dog and Pig Craft Pub which is also in Sindorium Area. 
  •     Korean bbq at 6 pm through Airbnb Events: take sindorim station to sinchon– 35 mins 
  •     Karaoke afterwards and get drunk off Soju at a 7-11

DAY THREE: Sunday

Leave Airbnb by 8:30 am: Make your way over to Namsangol Hanok Village and N Seoul Tower: 10 min train (euljiro – myeong-dong)

  • Namsangol Hanok Village: start by walking around this village checking out cafes and shops, it is an ancient village of the Joseon period, located near Namsan Mountain
  • Make way to Ihwa Mural Village: location in or near Namsan, it is a popular moral village and will be definitely enjoyed since you love art!
  • Then make way to n Seoul Tower: It is the highest point in Seoul giving beautiful views of the city below  (bring a “love” lock for use to add at the top)
    • You can either take the cable car up or hike (it is a very steep hike)
    • You can purchase love locks at bottom of tower (wooden observation deck overlooking Seoul, you will see so many when you get to the top and can put yours anywhere
    • To double the magic, lovers can also strengthen their bond more by making a wish at the Wishing Pond atop N Seoul Tower.
  • Lunch: at the restaurant at the top of the mountain: Seoul’s best bibimbap, all natural ingredients and freshly made 
  • Alive museum- after hike if want to go it is a museum that features life size exhibits and photo-op display.
  • After this depending on how your feeling you can just explore the park, relax, or you could also try to find a Cats, Dogs, Sheep, Or Snakes café a true cultural experience where you have coffee with the live animals
  • Another thing you can go to see is Bongeunsa Temple: about 40 min metro from the n Seoul tower- it is a Buddhist temple that dates back to 794. 
  •  For DINNER: (guided food market tour by sgoooodie): Namdaemun Market: the largest traditional market in Seoul.. TO TRY:
    • Savory hot dog- hotteok
    • Fish cake- eomuk
    • Dumplings: Mandu
    • Rice cakes: tteokbokki
    • Look down alley ways for hidden restaurants: those are the best and most traditional
  •     After dinner: Retro Game Bar for DDR

DAY FOUR: Monday

Start morning around 10 ish: make way to INSADONG market (just shy of 10 minutes on the metro). Insadong is a lively pedestrianized main street with shopping, dining, and cafes

  • Shop around check out the different foods, shopping, etc
  •  Head over to the Poop Café– opens at 10:30 am and is walking distance from insadong: a funny cafe that is inspired by poop another cultural experience. It is called Ddong Café and is located on third floor of the Ssamziegil shopping center.
  • After café: head to Changdeokgung Palace another one of the five grand palaces. From there you can take a walk through the secret garden which is on the grounds of the palace.
  • Once finished: head back to airbnb and get ready for airport
  • Should probably leave around 2:30 pm- it will take about 45 mins on metro if all goes well, maybe even leave at 2 pm to play it safe
