Lichtenstein Castle

Castles in Germany can be a truly special sight. I loved the Lichtenstein Castle because it was less crowded and had a beautiful view of the city below. We also were able to enjoy an amazing bratwurst after. It was raining when we went but grab yourself an umbrella because it’s still beautiful.

This Castle is a two-hour and 45-minute drive away from Frankfurt. From Munich, it is still about a two-hour and 30-minute drive. For both of these locations, it might be best to rent a car. If you do want to take a train from either of these locations, you can take a train most of the way and then a bus for the last thirty minutes or so.

The best and easiest location to get to Lichtenstein Castle is if you are staying in Stuggart, it is only one hour away and you can take either a train/bus combo or just take one bus to it.

Beauty in A Castle

The reason I loved this castle is because it didn’t have many tourists. For me, it felt very personal and felt like we had the castle to ourselves. I thought this was because of the weather but I later found out that this castle has fewer international tourists than others. Sometimes the tourist destinations are cool to see but the unique places are the ones that aren’t as popular. Which was exactly how I felt about this castle.

This was the first castle that I have ever seen in Germany so I definitely can’t say it’ll be the best you will see, but I do highly suggest seeing it. I really really loved it and the experience that we got with it.
