How to Spend a Girls Weekend in Atlanta, GA

perfect guide to a girl’s weekend in Atlanta, GA. Including checking out the Beltline, brunch, picnic in the park, and Buckhead. If you are wanting to know how to spend a girls weekend in Atlanta this post is for you.

Honestly, I have been living in Atlanta for a bit now and haven’t yet spent the weekend exploring everything the city has to offer. So when my mom, sister, and cousin came to town, it was time to be a tourist in my own city.

It took me a while to decide on and research what to do. Most importantly, it took me even longer to find us the best restaurants because the food scene here in Atlanta is incredible.

Where to Stay

How to Spend the Weekend in Atlanta

Friday

Ponce City market

To me, this is a perfect start to the weekend because there’s a little bit of shopping, eating, and drinking. You can either sit down at a restaurant here for lunch or each person can choose a different restaurant at the food court. From there, so many places to explore whether that be window shopping at West Elm or going to some of the local art stores. You can easily spend a few hours here.

Doughnut Dollies

This is going to be a little treat that can last you the whole weekend. We actually didn’t end up going here but I have been told that it is some of the best donuts! Get yourself a few!

Rooftop at Hotel Clermont

So you have to go here, it is such a vibe and has an incredible rooftop. Unfortunately, when my family was in town, the weather was not nice so we didn’t end up going. If the weather is nice for you, you cannot miss it. It also is just a trendy hotel in general and a possible one to consider staying at.

Dinner at Chai Yo Modern Thai

I am all for an upscale Asian restaurant and this place was such a vibe. The chef apparently was on Throwdown with Bobby Flay and won! So as you can imagine, the food was incredible. Plus it was located in Buckhead which is a super classy area. It was fun to dress up and treat ourselves.

Red Phone Booth Buckhead

This is going to be about a 5-minute drive from Chai Yo but uber’s are easily accessible in Atlanta. This bar is a speakeasy that you can only enter through the phone booth, like the ones you see in London. It is epic and honestly such a vibe on the inside too. Definitely dress up if you are going here, it is classy. Also, if you hate the smell of smoke or cigars, this is not your place. However, if you like cigars or don’t mind the smell, this place is honestly one of the coolest places we have all been.

Saturday

Brunch at Ladbird

This place is perfect if there is a bunch of you or you just want a more chill vibe. You walk up to the counter to order and there are picnic tables for you to sit at (or inside dining too if it is cold). The indoor/outdoor feel is so fun and they created such a cool concept here. It is themed like a summer camp and is also a perfect place to bring your dogs.

Walk Down the Beltline to Pour

After ladybird, we just followed the walking path to our next destination. The next stop on the beltline for us was Pour. It is a beer/wine bar where you get to pour yourself a drink from the tap. It is honestly such a fun concept and a place we really enjoyed stopping at.

The Beltline

The Beltline is a walking trail about 22 miles long that connects all the trendy neighborhoods in Atlanta. Many restaurants and bars have placed themselves on the beltline for those to stop at and enjoy along their stroll. It is a perfect way to walk and explore without having to drive everywhere. Depending on how much drinking or eating you do, you could end up spending the whole day here. Just continue along the trail and you won’t be disappointed.

Buckhead District for Shopping

This is the boujee shopping that we all want but doesn’t need! Designer everything here and it is so fun to shop around even if you are just window shopping.

Swans House

This mansion is an iconic historical building that has also made it on two hunger games movies. It is the perfect spot to have a photoshoot too.

Dinner at 9-mile station, skyline park after

9 mile Station is a restaurant that is located at the top of Ponce City Market. It has the most incredible views of the city and the food is so good as well. After you have dinner here you can head over to Skyline Park which is a rooftop park that mimics a seaside boardwalk with fun games, drinks, and food for all to enjoy!

Sunday

Brunch at Whiskey Bird

This restaurant is located in a cute little part of Atlanta called Morningside. The food here is really good and the location is pretty close to piedmont park, your next activity.

Picnic in Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is a huge park located right in the middle of the city. You will see the incredible skyline of the city. You may also see, if a nice day, food trucks and a lot of people enjoying their day. It is quite fun, we love bringing our dog here.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Located in Piedmont Park is a wonderful and incredible botanical garden. It is about a 2-hour event and costs $27.95. You can explore at your own pace and it is one of Atlanta’s treats.

Dinner at Buena Vida Tapas & Sol

A very yummy and very trendy Spanish restaurant to end your weekend with a bang. We never got the chance to go but from what I have been told, by a secret source who has lived here for a bit, it is a must.
