Let’s talk about temperature in Lake Garda. If you are visiting Italy in the summer, you can seriously enjoy some fun in the sun. In the winter during the holiday season, it does get cooler. The average temp ranges from 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It definitely isn’t water sports weather but I will tell you, it is still so charming.
The lake’s north side is about 2 hours away from the south side. With that being said, you definitely need to decide whether you want to go to the towns in the north or the towns in the south. This blog post is going to be about the towns in the north. The south, however, does have some fascinating things. Thermal baths in Sirmione, fun partying in Desenzano, or the Movieland Park in Lazise.
How to Spend Your Day
Limone del Garda is a small quaint town and the smallest of the lakes. But it is definitely a good place to start your adventuring. The reason being is the epic views and cute harbor this town holds. I would suggest first having a coffee at Caffetteria Bar “Al Porto”. It’s waterside and has incredible views. After that, the small town of Limone has so many cute shops and picturesque views. Limone also has a great cyclopath that is about a half-mile long. If you walk it, you will see some of the best views.
Next on the list is Riva del Garda. It is such a cute town with beautiful colorful buildings. First, stop in the harbor, enjoy the views and the shops. Now, you’re going to need lunch right? This next place needs to be on your must-see list. The restaurant is called Bastione and not only does it have incredible food but also amazing views. Even in the winter, it is a perfect spot to have lunch. The only way to get to the restaurant is through the cable car that scales the side of the mountain. The cable car is located right next to the Exclusive Suites Riva hotel. It costs about 5 euros round trip and even if you decide not to have lunch at Bastione, there is an incredible lookout at the top of the mountain for anyone to enjoy.
Last but not least, if you are traveling during the holiday season you can’t miss Arco. It is about a 10-minute drive from Riva and has the best and cutest Christmas market. The market is open from November to January 6th. It is located in the center of town and is definitely hard to miss. It is open from 10 am to 7 pm and when it is dark out, it is so cute.
